I think that all factors I mention above just allowed and helped to develop candidate-centered system but the reason why it happened is how elections are desired and the role which president plays in the country. Claiming that candidate-centered election system is natural in United States Russian Courses Kiev because of the political system here it makes difficult to imagine how the elections of 2008 would look if politics would be party-centered. Assuming that elections of 2008 are party-centered obviously I can say that those elections will be much different. I will concentrate in three issues which are significant and would change the whole elections: selecting candidates, campaign management and campaign content. Firstly party would play more important role in selecting candidates. The main aim of party is to choose that person who will win with the candidate from opposite party, so they would do everything possible to avoid situations that two people from the same party are fighting against each other and discrediting themselves and because of it party as well. The situation which happened in the beginning in 2008 when Obama and Clinton were leading black campaign against each other wouldn't be possible. I suppose that party would rather select their candidate by themselves among the best qualified people with high party loyality and representing party policy. Primaries them wouldn't be necessary but might be possible simply as a campaigning tool, from that we can assume that the general campaign would start much earlier.
